About Us

History of Memphis Juniors

Memphis Juniors has a long and winning history. Founded in the early 1980s by Diane Hale (former Memphis State head coach), we are the oldest and longest running club in Memphis. We are also proud to be one of the clubs to have helped form the Delta Region. We consistently produce some of the best juniors teams in the Delta Region and regularly qualify teams for National Championship events. In 1991, the club was reorganized by Angie Buchanan and former Memphis Juniors player Phyllis Richey around two 18s teams, which at the time represented juniors and seniors in high school (USAV had not yet gone to single age classifications for Junior Olympic play). The club has operated every season since that time. During the mid- to late-90s and until early 2002, the club was directed by a Board consisting of Diane Hale, Dave Klevan, and Van Spears.

Memphis Juniors has the We also have a low turnover rate as we seek out and hire the best coaches in the area.

Many Memphis Juniors alumni have gone on to play collegiate volleyball. Since 2011, all of our seniors that wanted to play in college signed with Division I NCAA, Division II NCAA, Division III NCAA, or NAIA universities.  We’ve had a high school sophomore commit to play NCAA Division I volleyball! We also have the best recruiting program. It is focused on helping the college bound student-athlete in creating their skills videos, recruiting website, college clinic series, player showcases and more.
