History
Memphis
Juniors has a long and winning history. Founded in the early
1980s by Diane Hale (former Memphis State head coach), we are
the oldest and longest running club in Memphis, and one of the
first junior clubs to have formed in the Delta Region. We
consistently produce some of the best juniors teams in the
Delta Region and regularly qualify teams for National
Championship events.
In 1991, the club was reorganized by Angie Buchanan and former
Memphis Juniors player Phyllis Richey around two 18s teams, which
at the time represented juniors and seniors in high school
(USAV had not yet gone to single age classifications for
Junior Olympic play). The club has operated every season
since that time. During the mid- to late 90s and until early
2002, the club was directed by a Board consisting of Diane Hale,
Dave Klevan, and Van Spears. The current Board consists of
Sam (Wolinski) Lambert (Club Director),
Angela Floyd (Director of Training), David Klimetz (Director of Operations), and Phyllis Knose (Parent Rep). Memphis Juniors Directors are
unpaid volunteers who are dedicated to the devlopment of both players
and the sport of volleyball in Memphis and the surrounding area. The
club has also been fortunate enough to garner the services of parent
volunteers as Team Reps, Travel and Tournament Coordinators, and
Facilities Supervisors. Only coaches are paid.rhoes college Volleyball
